The Piano Guys

as a piano lovers, i have favorite pianist like solo pianist or a group. today, i write about one of my favorite musical group and that called "The Piano Guys"

ThePianoGuys are an American musical group consisting of Jon Schmidt, Steven Sharp Nelson, Tel Stewart, Paul Anderson and Al van der Beek. They became famous through YouTube, where they posted videos of renditions and mashups of popular songs accompanied by professional-looking video shot and edited by Paul Anderson and Tel Stewart. In December 2011, they released their first album. Their second album, The Piano Guys, reached number one on the Billboard New Age Albums chart in 2012.

Their History :

Paul Anderson owned a piano shop in St. George, Utah. He met musician Jon Schmidt as the latter walked in to ask if he could practice there for an upcoming concert. Months later, Paul Anderson and Tel Stewart (then just for fun) started making videos together of Jon Schmidt. It was not too long after that they did their first collaboration with Jon Schmidt, Steven Sharp Nelson, Joseph Sanns, and Al van der Beek as the studio and music technician. After the five of them started collaborating the group really started to take off, producing a music video each week and posting it to YouTube.
The team also includes Tel Stewart (videography and editing) and Al van der Beek (production and recording).

Success:
Several of the group's YouTube videos have over 12 million views, yet only one has over 25 million views (that of friend and non-piano guy Jarrod Radnich). As of 10 January 2013, The Piano Guys' YouTube channel has over 211 million total video views and over 1.2 million subscribers.
The most successful video ever on their channel was the video by Jarrod Radnich of his original arrangement "Pirates of the Caribbean" that he performs "virtually" each day to over 3,000 visitors to Disneyland's Dream Home of the Future exhibit. The Piano Guys elected to discontinue the listing of Radnich's videos on their channel, and Jarrod Radnich has created his own YouTube channel. This channel is one of the fastest growing channels on YouTube.

live while we're young

"Live While We're Young" is a song by English-Irish boy band One Direction, released as the lead single from their second studio album Take Me Home (2012). Written by Rami Yacoub, Carl Falk and Savan Kotecha and produced by Yacoub and Falk, it was released by Syco Records on 28 September 2012. Falk, Kotecha, and Yacoub had collaboratively helmed One Direction's previous hits, "What Makes You Beautiful" and "One Thing". The track is an uptempo, upbeat pop rock song which includes elements of dance pop and bubblegum pop. The song utilizes rock undertones, vocal harmonies, hand claps, prominent electric guitar riffs, and repetitive synthesizers.
The song received mixed reviews from music critics. While it faced criticism for its opening guitar riff bearing similarities with The Clash's 1982 single "Should I Stay or Should I Go", critics who favoured the song cited its omnipresence and resemblance of happiness. Additionally, the song's lyrics were negatively received by several critics, interpreted as a thinly veiled euphemism for sexual intercourse. A commercial success, the song became a top ten hit in fifteen countries, while reaching the top of the charts in New Zealand and Ireland. In the United States, "Live While We're Young" debuted at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking the second-highest bow among all UK acts, outpaced only by Elton John's number 1 arrival with "Candle in the Wind 1997" and recorded the highest one-week opening sales figure for a song by a non-US artist.
Following an unauthorized internet leak, the song's accompanying music video was officially released on 20 September 2012, four days earlier than the intended release date. It was directed by Vaughan Arnell and depicts a camping, water festival theme, with the group's activities considered "scampering". The music video was generally well received by critics, many of whom commended its carefree and abrasive nature. Upon release, it broke the Vevo record for having the most views in a 24-hour period with 8.24 million, beating the previous record which had been set by Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" (8.00 million). Bieber subsequently regained the record with his music video for "Beauty and a Beat" (10.6 million). (for more info)

a thousand years - Christina Perri

this is the review about a thousand years by Christina Perri ( OST Twilight)

"Initially, "A Thousand Years" sounds just a bit sappy and even a bit twee. However, stick with it and as the waltz time begins to sway more and more the song moves into a bridge that is stunningly gorgeous. If anyone thinks grand string and piano orchestrations have no place in a simple pop song, listen again here. "A Thousand Years" then melts back down into a gentle place before sweeping along to a pleasing conclusion. Just as she grabbed us by the emotional jugular on "Jar Of Hearts," Christina Perri once again moves something powerful inside of us.
Christina Perri's voice is not a powerhouse instrument. However, she uses it to great effect sounding almost as if we were sitting with a friend who chooses to speak to us in song instead of everyday speech patterns. Instead of pushing her voice to power through a huge chorus, she lets the backing track do the speaking. It is an effect that adds a distinctiveness to Christina Perri's songs.
Although Christina Perri failed to find a major hit single to follow up "Jar Of Hearts," it seems like "A Thousand Years" just may be the song to push her back up pop radio playlists. "A Thousand Years" will also work well on event soundtracks ranging from weddings to proms. The swaying waltz time has an irresistible pull to the slow dance floor."

i have been played this song at "Archiplan in Wonderland 2012" with my friends at innercourt JUTAP UGM. i played piano at the momment and this is link for you, if you need some exercises and tutorial to play this song (especially for pianist/keyboardist). enjoy guys, i hope you can play it better than me :'p

OST Lion King

a. Circle of Life -- menceritakan tentang bagaimana proses kehidupan itu terjadi
b. I just can't wait to be king -- menceritakan Simba yang tidak sabar ingin menjadi seorang raja
c. Be Prepared --
d. Hakuna Matata -- it's means don't worry for the rest of your day :D
e. Can You feel the love toningt
f. This Land
g. King of Pride Rock

Thank's :D
